2019 marked the first year since 2013 for Prairie's Show Choir Invitational, "Premiere," finals a part of the great day. Usually, this competition is a "1 and done" performance opportunity.

Linn-Mar's "10th Street Edition" was seeking a Grand Champion for the first time this year after a second place finish to Hastings "Riverside Co." at Ankeny Centennial's "Mid-Iowa Show Choir Championships." Although I don't know daytime placements, I imply that "10th Street Edition" was in first place after daytime awards, considering they were the last to perform in finals.

Finals performing order at "Premiere" was: Wahlert Catholic "Impulse," Iowa City West "Good Time Company," Wichita All-City "Flight," CR Kennedy "Happiness, Inc.," CR Washington "Momentum," and Linn-Mar "10th Street Edition."

During the daytime, Iowa City West "Good Time Company" earned People's Choice and Best Crew. Sources aren't sure who received an Outstanding Soloist from Mundelein's "Sound." Linn-Mar "10th Street Edition" was awarded Best Band at this time, along with Emma Geneser winning and Outstanding Soloist Award for the Group.

When final awards came out, it was indeed what Linn-Mar's "10th Street Edition" was looking for. "10th Street Edition" took home Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Band, and Best Soloist, completing their 1st Sweep of the season. Even though winning is great, improving from competition to competition is even better. I have personally watched videos of this group from their annual Get in the Spirit, Ankeny Centennial's "Mid-Iowa Show Choir Championships," and now from here. Even from a video, you can see great improvement in the execution of their choreography and vocals.

Final Awards for Prairie "Premiere" 2019:
Grand Champion: Linn-Mar "10th Street Edition" (Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Band, Best Soloist - Emma Geneser)
1st RU: CR Kennedy "Happiness, Inc."
2nd RU: CR Washington "Momentum"
3rd RU: Wahlert Catholic "Impulse"
4th RU: Iowa City West "Good Time Company" (Best Crew, People's Choice)
5th RU: Wichita All-City "Flight"

Linn-Mar's "10th Street Edition" will be competition at 2 more competition this season, Urbandale and Davenport. I have attached a video from their performance at "Premiere" yesterday!!
